It’s been a while since our last update and we’ve been working on some exciting new projects and collaborations that we wanted to tell everyone about.
We recently worked with Guildford Library on the Arts Council funded Read:Code:Make project. This was a collaboration of artists and digital makers, who came together to create interactive art installations at the library. You can read more in our three part blog series (part 1, part 2 and part 3).
ILI2018 Talk and Scavenger Hunt:
This year is the 20th Internet Librarian International conference (16th & 17th Oct) and we’re excited to be part of it. We’ll be there talking on the first day about interactivity and User Experience (UX) and we’re also running an interactive scavenger-hunt adventure. Find out more at http://www.internet-librarian.com/2018/Tuesday.aspx.
We’ve also got a couple of upcoming one-day training courses happening in London.
- Makerspaces and digital making for library and museum staff – 31st October
- 3D printing for library and museum staff – 14th November
These courses are both beginner-friendly and designed for library staff of all levels to learn more about digital making and 3d printing and how they can use these technologies to support users and deliver innovative new services. Comments from participants in previous training include “That was the most fun and educational training I’ve ever done” (Liverpool Library Staff).

We’ve just developed a smaller version of the Makercart with a focus on physical computing to help support and expand the work you’re already doing with your Code Clubs. It contains some exciting tech, activities and documentation to bring some excitement into your programme . Please get in touch to find out more!
