Monday reading – Green Libraries

Some light(ish) reading to start your week. In the last week, there have been some great Green Libraries resources announced, including:

IFLA Guidelines for Green Libraries – Step-by-Step Implementation Manual – A free, practical resource to help libraries transform the principles of the IFLA Guidelines for Green Libraries into action. There are foundation steps to follow on How to Build a Green Library, a quick start checklist and templates you can use. It also links library sustainability initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Green Librarian grows – Announcing the Green Librarian webpage by the European Library Associations Network (ELAN). The site brings together ELAN’s two flagship publications (The Green Librarian Handbook and The Green Librarian – Practical Guide: Developing Climate Policies for Libraries) with their growing collection of online resources.
