We are super excited to see the launch of the New Skills for the Future Library Leader programme we’ve been busy working with CILIP on throughout this year.
The two courses that make up this professional development programme, Digital Skills for Leadership and Futures Literacy, are aimed at aspiring and emerging public library leaders across England to help them build strategic skills.
This project really benefited from the collaborative nature of the library sector. This includes (but is not limited to) the initial data gathering work with CILIP and Evidence to Action, to working with the CILIP team throughout, to the content reviewers who helped with beta testing. Not to mention the amazing contributions from library pros from different roles who kindly shared their experience and advice ❤️.
All of these contributions help provide new ways for library professionals (current and future) to gain skills and knowledge to face the ever-changing environment that is library work.
If you work in a public library in England and would like to access the courses, you can find out more and register at:
